Artist Statement Life is a journey. Every day we make choices: how are we going to explore, make connections and learn from them. When we arrive at the edge-a physical or theoretical threshold-we must decide if we are ready to leave behind the safety of the known for the fear of the unknown. My photography is a gift that allows me to take a step into deeper water. I filter life, emotions, and connections through my art. I rely on my photography to subconsciously carry me across the edges and thresholds of my journey. Each series I create takes me along on a new adventure. Often, I need to look to my past to see the way forward. I often can't see why I am making the images I do when I am in the midst of a passage. My photographs reveal what I have been feeling and help guide me through my emotions. I work in diptychs, triptychs and spacial presentations to give my work the depth I feel represents my journey as a photographer and artist.
